The American StockCar Series is off and Running. This past weekend at Sears Point Raceway the NASA stock cars thundered off with 28 cars taking the green flag.

Greg Pickett used the NASA weekend to come out of retirement and tune up for the NASCAR race in two weeks. Pickett had the pole for Saturdays race in his Chevy Monte Carlo, then had to settle for second to Steve Petty in the 1999 Ford Taurus. Taking third overall was Rudy Revak in his GTA Lumina and in fourth overall was Doug Davis in the ZZ4 powered 2000 Monte Carlo.

Jimmy MacNichols was there and talked to chassis builder Phil Perry about taking delivery of the first new ASC car. Mike Mays has picked up a car for his daughter Michelle. Mike Haleran, Greg Pickets crew chief, said they are converting their car to ASC after the streets of L.A. and Brandon Kraus will be joining the ASC tour also.
