IRWINDALE, California -- Lucas Oil Super Late Model driver, Nathan Wulff, driver of the #18 Free Builders Supply Chevrolet Monte Carlo has his sites set on the championship at the Irwindale Speedway. At the season opening race he started off strong with a sixth place finish. Wulff was running well in the second race by qualifying the car in the sixth spot with a time of 18.123 seconds. The invert for the race was three. By lap 4 of the 75-lap race, Wulff had piloted his #18 Free Builders Supply Chevrolet to fourth when the handling of his car went away. By lap 63, he was running in eighth when he was hit in turn one spinning the car around. Wulff was able to get the car back under way and finished the race in 18th.
“It was a tough night for the team,” said Wulff. “The car was tight. We tried a new shock package and we might have adjusted ourselves out of contention to win this race. I tried to just settle in and hit my marks but the car just got tighter and tighter. I had to really work to get the car to turn. We’re now eighth in overall points with a lot of racing yet to come.”
Wulff Motorsports would like to thank their sponsors Free Builders Supply, Schroeder Torsion Bars, Brillstein Shocks, Ron’s Rear Ends, Watkins Engine Development, and Speed Dynamics.
