BAKERSFIELD, California -- On April 9, 2005, Mesa Marin Raceway located in Bakersfield, CA., will host one of the biggest NASCAR short track events in quite some time.
Along with the HPS Mechanical / Victory Circle 150 Southwest Series race, and the Lucas Oil 150 Grand National race, Stock Building Supply will present the Bakersfield Home Improvement Show at Mesa Marin Raceway.
This historic night will feature three events in one night, two of NASCAR’s premier regional touring divisions along with a home improvement show featuring 30 of the nation’s premier vendors in the building industry.
“This event is something very unique. Race car fans will get an opportunity to attend the home improvement show and get to watch both NASCAR premier events all in one night. This will be an incredible value for all that attend,” states Rick Smith, Director of Motorsports for Stock Building Supply.
“We have great vendors that will be in attendance displaying the latest products for the home improvement industry. We will have drawings for some great prizes including a Home Theater System that will be given away between the two race events.”
The Bakersfield Home Improvement Show will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. After the show, look for the green #12 Stock Building Supply/ LADCO Racing / Victory Circle Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and its driver, Rip Michels, who will be competing Saturday night in the HPS Mechanical / Victory Circle 150 Southwest Series race.
Rip Michels, the 2004 AutoZone Elite Division Rookie of the Year, will be returning to Mesa Marin Raceway where Rip was the 1997 Grand American Modified Champion. “Mesa Marin has always been special to me. After Saugus Speedway closed Mesa was my home track for several years. It has always been one of my favorite tracks, ” said Rip.
The Stock Building Supply Racing Team will be bringing out a show car for all the fans to see. Rip will be signing autographs and will be available for photos. The Team is looking forward to seeing all of their friends and fans.
