- Saturday night's ASA Speed Truck Challenge race at Mesa Marin Raceway will be filmed for national television on the Outdoor Channel.
- Saturday night is the first round of the 2005 Cal Spas Supermoto Series.
Riders to watch; 2004 champion – Leonardo Bagnis of Argentina, Championship runner-up – Rick Pearce of Bakersfield and third in the 2004 standings – Josh Chisum of Bakersfield.
- The ‘Inferno Jet Car' will be an added feature at Saturday night's event. ‘Inferno' is powered by a J30 missile engine, which produces 7000 pounds of thrust. Driver Bob Vance will make a full power run down the Mesa Marin front straight.
- For the first time in the history of the ASA Speed Truck Challenge, four Rookies hold the top four positions in the 2005 Championship Points battle
- Gabi DiCarlo will make her debut at Mesa Marin Raceway on April 23 rd in her #81 Great Clips for Hair Chevy S-10, as the only female to race a Speed Truck in 2005.
- The MSR Racing/Fred Cummings Motorsports Fifties Series will make its season debut.
- Thirty-Four Speed Trucks are registered for twenty-eight starting positions forcing a “B” show at Mesa Marin Raceway on April 23 rd . The ASA Speed Truck Challenge has grown so popular that every race so far in 2005 has had a “B” show.
- Randy Tucker, the current point leader of the Crystal Pools Street Stock Series will be shooting for his third main event win in a row.
- Friday, from 4pm to 9pm, the ASA Speed Truck Challenge Series will host a ‘practice day' for its drivers.
- Gates open at 5pm, Supermoto heats at 5pm, Racing begins 6:30pm. Adult admission $10, Children 6-12 $5, Free Children tickets available at Wendy's Restaurants.
