VIDOVICH BACK IN POINTS BATTLE HEADING INTO STOCKTON

LAKESIDE, California -- Auggie Vidovich II, of Lakeside, CA, heads to Stockton 99 Speedway Saturday, April 30 for another NASCAR doubleheader night of racing. The NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest and Grand National West Series’ make the stop at the 1/4-mile paved oval, one of two stops this year for the Southwest Series at the historic track that has hosted the Southwest Series since 1986. “This race will be just as important as the last race (Mesa Marin) in order to maintain our standings in the top-five early in the season,” said last race winner, Vidovich.

The win at Mesa Marin brought Vidovich up to third, 49 points out of first, in the point standings after the first two races of the 14-race schedule for the Southwest Series. ‘We are back in contention for another championship just where our team should be,” said the 2003 NASCAR Elite Division, Southwest Series Champion, who lead all 150 laps at Mesa Marin on April 9 for the win.

Vidovich missed the Stockton race last year due to a selected race schedule and finished fourth on the 1/4-mile in 2003.

Vidovich driving the No.11 Centrifugal Technologies, Ultra Custom Boats, Ransom Brothers True Value Lumber Chevrolet and the other Southwest drivers will take advantage of the open practice Friday before the Saturday night 100-lap AutoZone Twin Championships race presented by Havoline. The race will be televised live on HDNet set to start at 7:45 PM PST .
