Coming this Saturday night, May 21st, to South Sound Speedway will be a fan favorite collection of classes. The Late Model Super Stocks, North Star Yachts and Commercial Drivers Services Sportsman, Top Notch Trailers Street Stocks, and Hinkle Homes Pure Stocks will fill the pits and keep the fans on the edge of their seats. It is also Lucky Eagle Night at the races so look for some great prizes from them.

After finishing first and second in the main event on May 7th, Tom Sweatman and Joe Constance are tied for the lead in the Late Model Super Stock point standings. Brad Tanner is in a close third followed by Tim Gosch in fourth and Troy Conrad in fifth. Jim Wilcox, Wes Rhodes, Angela Cope, Willy Thom and Phil Willis finish out the top ten. The competition is stiff in this class and one bad race can make or break you as three-time defending Champion Nick Behn found out. Behn is currently 14th in points after an 18th place finish.

After his win last Saturday night, Shane Sawin leads the North Star Yachts and Commercial Drivers Services Sportsman point standings. Seventeen-year-old Brandon Finch is second in points. Long time South Sound Speedway racer Paul “Pappy” Welch is running third. John Boyatt is fourth in points and won the first main event of the season. Cale Streepy is fifth and Tom Smitham is sixth. Jeremy Richardson is seventh with Frank Clark, Pat Clark and Jack Allen in eighth through tenth.

David Knittle leads the Top Notch Trailers Street Stocks points by one over Jay Hopkins and Jim Swanson who are tied for second. JJ Hamilton and Mike Saylors are tied for fourth. Jim Moen is currently sixth and Ron Ehli is seventh. One-point separates Charles Meadors, Bobby Micielli and Jordan McGregor who are eighth through tenth.

With two races under their belts the Hinkle Homes Pure Stock point race is pretty close. Dan Walker leads the packs with one win and seven points over Bobby Moore in second. Steve Woods, who won last weekend, is third with two points over the driving team of Nick Behn and Mike Carlson. Scott Johnson is fifth in points while Steve Gerdts is sixth. One-point behind Gerdts is Mitchell Woods. Newcomer Kevin Roorda is comfortable in eighth while Eric Lee is ninth and rookie Bryan Christoffer is tenth.

Racing this weekend will begin at 6:30 pm with qualifying getting underway at 5:00 pm. Be sure to check out www.southsoundspeedway.com for ticket information.####
