MEMORIAL DAY CLASSIC

  • New Race Surface: For the first time in five race seasons, Mesa Marin has been re-sealed, which means a new racing surface for this Saturday night's “Memorial Day Classic”. Historically, track records begin to fall soon after the track is re-sealed.
  • Four Divisions – Four Main Events: Saturday night will offer up 225 laps of main event racing. Each of the four divisions – Late Models, ASA Speed Truck Challenge, Crystal Pools Street Stock Series and the ‘Havoline Racing Revolution Sport Compact Series' - will run main events only Saturday night.
  • Late Models: Eric Richardson has led the NASCAR Late Model championship point standings since the opening round on April 2 nd , he extended his lead over Roy Degeer and Cody Pruitt, 300 to 264 and 245 respectively.
  • Last Race: 2003 Late Model champion Brian Richardson returned to racing after missing the past three races to pick up the main event win last Thursday night. Four different drivers have won Late Model main events so far in 2005.
  • Speed Trucks: Rookie Kyle Cattanach holds an eight-point lead in the ASA Speed Truck Challenge points championship over defending series champion, Lee Hatch, 212 to 204. Cattanach won his first career Speed Truck main event at Mesa Marin on April 23 rd .
  • Street Stocks: Randy Tucker, Paul Ebersbacher, Howie Smith, Shane Thomas and Roy Degeer, Jr. are separated by just 51 points at the top of the Crystal Pools Street Stock Series point standings.
  • ‘Havoline Racing Revolution Sport Compact Series': After four races in the 2005 ‘Havoline Racing Revolution Sport Compact Series', we have yet to have a repeat winner. Lee Stoops, Scott Cox, Keith Van Dam and Robert Campos each have a win so far in 2005.
  • Times: Gates 5pm Racing 7:30pm.
  • Admission: Adult General Admission $10, Children 6 – 12 $5, Reserved Seating $15 – Note: Free Children Admission Vouchers at local Wendy's Restaurants.
