NASCAR racing returns to Tucson Raceway Park this Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 28, with O’Rielly Chevrolet presenting the Super Late Models, NASCAR Late Models, Mighty Compacts, Factory Stocks and Spectacular Drags.

The Super Late Models take center stage for their sixth race of the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Season. Five different winners in the first five events puts pressure on all the drivers. Defending Track Champion, “Stormin” Ron Norman, has his sights set on his first win, while Dusty Fielden, who has two third place finishes, hopes to gather his first win. Rookies, Larry Kayton and Brice Bonnett, who have won the last two main events, have different plans for the seasoned veterans.

NASCAR Late Models return after a weekend off with new track record holder, Scott Strachan, wanting a repeat challenge to hold last race winner Tim Blodgett. Mighty Compact driver, Mike Vaughan, looks to hold off hard charging, Jim Bates. As the two only feature winners so far they have a hungry field behind them. Factory Stock warriors hit the 3/8th asphalt mile to battle after one week off. Points leader, Jerry Gaede, looks for another win on the Memorial Day O’Rielly Chevrolet Night at the races.

Spectacular Drags round out Saturday night’s events where fans can driver their own street cars for one on one drags. Gates open at 5:00 p.m.; racing begins at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for juniors, seniors and military and kids 11 and under are ALWAYS FREE!
