Brandon Riehl from Boring, Ore. scored his Bud Pole Award of the season in NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division competition Sunday afternoon at Colorado National Speedway. Riehl toured the 3/8-mile paved oval in 16.371 seconds/81.363 mph to top thirty-eight Midwest and Southwest Series drivers in the first of two combination races to be staged this season. Defending Midwest Series champion Justin Diercks from Davenport, Iowa clocked in second quick in the all-star field. Nick Lynch, Greg Voigt, and Burney Lamar rounded out the top five in qualifying. Sixteen cars will line up for the 20-lap non-qualifiers race. The top six cars from the qualifying race plus six provisional starters will make up the 32-car Auto Trader "150" starting grid.
