DUAL 50-LAP WESTERN LATE MODEL, GRAND AMERICAN MODIFIED RACES HEADLINE DODGE NIGHT SATURDAY

PLUS ALSC AND PRO-4 TRUCKS

The action at Stockton 99 Speedway just keeps getting better and better.

This Saturday NASCAR DODGE Weekly Series fans are going to get a double dose of 50- lap main event action! First, from the HAVOLINE Western Late Model drivers, then from the Grand American Modified competitors! But thats not all, also on for DODGE Night Saturday are the CL BRYANT American Limited Stock Cars and the Pro-4 Trucks.

Stocktons Pete Anderson Jr. continues to lead the Western Late Model points race (477), but by only 4 points. After winning last week's 100-lap main event, Granite Bays John Moore moved up just behind Anderson Jr. with 472. San Rafael's Allison Duncan is in third place with 460, Turlocks Chris Monez is holding steady at fourth with 438 and Eric Humphries rounds out the top five with 390.

These division top-5 drivers have all proven that they have the skill and cars needed to win a main event. With the exception of Monez, each driver has won at least one this season, but all have qualified at least once with the fast time.

From week to week, this field of five has been providing thrilling race action, because no one can ever tell whos going to win until the very end. In last week's race, it seemed as if Duncan was going to walk with her second checkered flag, but in lap-85 Moore made a move, nabbed the lead and ended up rolling to victory lane. In weeks past, it seemed that Monez was headed for victory at times, but bad luck and collisions ended up sending him in a different direction.

These five aren't the only drivers that are providing topnotch motorsports entertainment on Saturday nights. Also running hard each week are Stockton's Gary Shafer Jr., Los Altos Mark Holeman, Lodi's Arron Shankel and Tracys Brandon Trevethan and Ryan Philpot. These six through 10th place points holders also have the skill and cars necessary to win, and in races that can be marked at times by significant inverts and caution flags, it is only a matter of time before one of them does.

The Grand American Modified drivers will be back on the fastest, quater-mile paved NASCAR oval west of the Mississippi Saturday night for a 50-lap main event. This season the drama and excitement in this division has been unrivaled. So far, fans have seen tempers flare to boiling points and wins earned in the final laps following violations that have forced leaders to the back.

Dixons Jerry Dubach is leading the GAM pack with 295. Modestos Kyle Gottula is in second with 295, Sacramentos Jason Philpot is at third with 281, Salidas Sam Solari is in fourth with 259 and Ripons Mike Regelman is in fifth with 247. These top five positions have been well earned, but there are a number of other drivers in this division that could easily end up with a win.

Sitting in the 10 place points slot is Citrus Heights Jay Linstroth. He's pushed the field to its limits more than once, and likely would be a top five competitor had he not been black- flagged in one race and then suspended.

The CL BRYANT American Limited Stock Cars 30-lap main event is going to be filled with a talented group of drivers this week.

Leading the division is Modesto's Charlie Clawson with 568. Clawson came close to sweeping the division last week, winning both the dash and the main event. He has a comfortable lead over second place follower Chad Holman of Stockton (506), but when the green flag waves, points are the last thing on these drivers' minds -- it's all about the win at that point!

Both Clawson and Holman have won main events this season, but so has Escalon's Darrell Hughes who is in third with 488 and Stockton's Joe Allen who is in fourth with 486. Stocktons Donny Darter and Kannai Scantlen, neither of whom are in the top five, have also won main events, as has Mantecas Boyd Camper who sits in 13th. The odds in this division, from week-to-week, are favoring no one.

The Pro-4 Trucks drivers have been putting on great weekly shows. These super-mini trucks are quick and agile, giving fans an opportunity to watch drivers take chances as they maneuver in and out of tight situations. Mark Henslee of Lathrop is currently leading the pack with 501, he won last weeks main event an is looking forward to taking on second place holder Mike Curry of Lodi (478), third place holder Ron Robeck of Milpitas (432), fourth places Nathan McNeil of Oakdale (420) and fifth places Brian Hitchcock (358) of Manteca.
