Rookie sensation Jason Majors, took his red #22 Chevy Pro 4 truck to the banked 1/4 mile at Wenathcee Valley Super Oval with the hopes of staying consistent. Consistent he was, sweeping each event throughout the night for his fifth consecutive victory. Going in to race 5, Majors was the points leader backed up with 4 consecutive wins, 3 fast times, 4 heat races and 4 trophy dashes. The goal for Wenatchee was much of the same, just be consistent and finish in the top 3. Although this was the first time for the Majors Racing team competing at WVSO, it was evident early on in the day, that goal was likely to be accomplished.
Setting a new track record, for the pro four truck series in qualifying, with a 15.117 Majors locked up fast time, and set his starting position at the back of the field for the full invert. In the heat race starting eighth, by lap 3 Majors had made it three wide going in to turn four, and then executed the pass down the front stretch and never looked back.
Starting the main event last was a thrill for Jason as he began to pick off trucks one by one. In a series that uses no spotters, Jason had to be his own spotter making it through traffic until lap 8 when he completed the pass on Pete Brady for the lead. Majors never looked back, crossing the finish line first for his fifth consecutive victory.
"It was really neat to win my first time racing here at WVSO. It's a really nice facility and the track is fun to race on. It was much easier for me to learn than some of the other tracks I've been to this year," says Majors.
Racing at tracks that he is unfamiliar with is nothing new to Majors but it is also something not frowned upon. "I love all the new tracks that I am racing on this year and it definitely makes it more fun with the success I've had. I cant wait to come back to WVSO on July 30th to race again," says Majors.
Majors of Puyallup, WA. remains the series points leader over Terry Warren. Jason would like to thank his sponsors: Canyon Auto Paint, Image Auto body, South Hill Auto Wrecking, Brian's frame shop, and Iron gate Shoppe and powder coating, his family, friends, fans and crew for their support throughout the 2005 season.
The next event for the Northwest Pro Four Truck Series will be July 30th at WVSO. For More information on Jason Majors contact: jasonmajorsracing@yahoo.com![]()
