A SPECIAL NIGHT FOR THE HARDING AT EVERGREEN SPEEDWAY

Patience is what Pete Harding is always telling his son Shane. It was patience that worked on this night as Shane moved to third from his sixth starting position. He stayed behind second place driver Jason Fraser for a large portion of the 75 lap feature. A slight bobble by Fraser is all that Harding needed to make the pass into second. It was more of the same patience that forced leader Naima Lang to go wide off four and the final pass was made. With 10-laps remaining Harding moved away from the side by side dual between Lang and Fraser. Fraser kept a lot of pressure on Lang throughout the main. Lang was a slight bit faster on the long 5/8-mile oval front and back stretches. Lang finished second and Fraser third followed by Dog Davidson and Gaylon Stewart.

Practicing what he preached to his son Pete Harding used patience to win his first NASCAR Auto Zone Elite Division Northwest Series of the season. Passing race leader Jeff Jefferson with less than a quarter of the 125-lap remaining.

NEXT UP at Evergreen Speedway on Saturday July 16 it is the Buzz Inn Hot Bikes and Fast Cars night of racing. A day long motorcycle show is followed by a night of fast car racing. Les Schwab NASCAR Bombers, NASCAR Mini-Stocks, Hertz Hornets, The Believers Motorcycle Stunt Team, Super and Extreme Contact Figure Eights end the two and four wheel day. Racing starts at 7:00pm.
