BREA, California -- Steve Guccione new he had lady luck on his side Saturday night when he qualified sixth, but the roll of the dice and invert placed him on the pole for the start of the race. When the green flag dropped, you could tell the Team #40 InternetTrains.com Dodge was going to have a great run. Leading from the drop of the green, Guccione led all 75 laps by as much as 4.5 seconds until a late caution bunched the field up for a restart with a handful of laps to go. That didn’t slow them down, when the green flag waved for the last time; Guccione was able to hold off hard charging Lee Hatch for his first ASA Speed Truck win.
“This was an awesome night, winning in front of my home crowd with my friends and family in attendance. I’ve got the easy part; I owe this win to my crew and to all that have helped this team climb to fourth in points this season,” said Orange County resident Guccione.
