Memphis, Tenn. -- TMC Transportation and R.E Technologies Racing announced today that the flatbed-transportation giant would sponsor the No. 191 R.E. Technologies Racing Silver Crown™ car driven by Carl Edwards at the J.D. ByRider 100 at Indianapolis Raceway Park Thursday night. The car will carry the famous black and gold TMC logo with Ford power under the hood.
“We are excited to team up with a first class company like TMC Transportation and a first class driver like Carl Edwards for this event,” said team owner Roger Johnson.
TMC Transportation is the largest privately held flatbed-trucking company in the nation. Based in Des Moines, Iowa, TMC hauls freight throughout the eastern half of the United States.
Carl Edwards raced twice for Johnson and the team in 2004 with his best finish coming at Phoenix when he finished ninth. This will be Edwards's sixth career start in a Silver Crown car at the .686-mile oval. His best finish in the series at IRP came in 2003 when he finished third and went on to win in the No. 99 Superchips F-150 the following night.
In addition to racing the No. 191 TMC Transportation/ Ford Thursday night, Edwards is also scheduled to pilot the No. 60 Charter Ford in the Busch Series race at IRP Saturday night and the No. 99 AAA Ford at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday.
