Source: Tucson Raceway Park Public Relations
Ron Norman became the Super Late Model division's 9th different winner and the elusive invitation to the Bud Shoot Out on Championship Night, October 1st. Norman, defending Super Late Model Champion, inherited a front row starting position after Brice Bonnett and Kelly Germain's cars were involved in a warm up lap incident. Bonnett returned to the race after repairs while Germain was forced to retire from the event and relinquished her pole position for the 30 lap main event. Dusty Fielden held on for the second spot, Matt Levin powered his way to third and collected the Merle's Automotive Supply Hard Charger Award. Mike Egurola finished fourth and Danny Burson took a night off from the NASCAR AutoZone Southwest Series and captured the fifth position. NASCAR Late Model action saw Tim Blodgett power his Hooters Chevrolet to Budweiser Victory Lane for the third time in 2005. Alan Levin led the first six laps of the 25 lap main event with Blodgett taking the lead position on lap seven and staving off Scott Strachan at the finish. Strachan crashed his primary car during practice earlier in the evening and jumped into Brice Bonnett's Aaron's Dream Machine for the main event and finished second. Alan Levin took home third place honors, Robin Boomgaarden came in fourth and Bob Cramb brought the Famous Dave's BBQ Chevrolet into fifth. The Factory Stock Main event had Sierra Vista's Flyin' Brian O'Brien muscle his way to victory lane. O'Brien making his second start of the season came from the 11th starting position to claim the winner's trophy and the $200 first place cash. O'Brien took the lead from David Rooyakkers on the restart during the caution filled race and held off Rooyakkers who claimed the second spot. Points leader, Jerry Gaede held on for third, pole sitter, Jeremy Smith kept the Alvarez Racing Camaro in the hunt for fourth and Alan Levin rounded out the top five. INEX Legend cars saw a familiar face in victory lane as Matt Williams captured his seventh main event. Pole Sitter, Suave Brachowski held the early lead until Williams powered to the front on lap four. Derek Frohlich came from his 13th starting position to the second spot on lap 12 and began to pressure Williams for the lead. Williams staved off Frohlich for the win. Frohlich kept the runner up spot while Greg Jayko inherited the third position after Wes Fry was moved to the rear of the field after failing post race tech. Terry Lipscomb gathered the fourth spot and Chris Weilenmann came home fifth. INEX Bandolero action saw Houston Franco win his second main event of the season. Greyson Weaver came from his seventh starting spot to finish second. Blake Leuth finished third, Austin Trebilcock finished fourth and Romero Cionni rounded out the top five.
