Brett Thompson and Thompson Motorsports are ready and looking forward to the last 5 races of the NASCAR Grand National West Series schedule.
In the final 5 races of the 2004 season, Brett and the team scored 4 top 5s and their first win. So it’s the time of the season when Thompson has been able to drive his Thompson Motorsports/Rich Thompson Trucking Chevy Monte Carlo to the front.
Thompson is 6th in NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series Championship points at just past the halfway point in the schedule, the highest in the points standings the team has been at this point in the season.
Thompson kept his skills sharp during a gap in the NASCAR West series schedule by winning modified races in Idaho and Utah.
When the series returned to action in July at Irwindale Thompson scored a podium finish, driving the Thompson Motorsports/Rich Thompson Trucking Chevy Monte Carlo to third place.
Thompson most recently scored a Top-10 at Stockton 99 Speedway. Thompson qualified 11th and drove forward to 3rd by the midway point in the race. Contact during double file restarts pushed Thompson backward but he battled back to an eighth place finish.
The team is confident as they head to Pikes Peak International Raceway this weekend for NAPA Auto Parts 150 NASCAR West Series Race Presented by NAPA Belts & Hose. The 1-mile oval very similar to Phoenix International Raceway where the team has run well.
Thompson Motorsports is based in Jerome ID and prepares racecars out of a 12,000 sq. ft. state of the art facility completed in February 2004.
