
FONTANA, California -- Road racing whiz Jorge Goeters scored a top ten finish in his first NASCAR Grand National West start. Jorge, who garnered the pole and led most of the day in Mexico's historic first Busch race last March drove the # 77 King Taco, Cardenas Markets, Xtreme Gel, Performance Motorsports Ford Taurus to a tenth place finish in the "Relocate Here 200".
Racing under the lights as a companion feature to Saturdays Busch race and Sundays Cup race, Jorge drove for the team that won this race in 2003.
"I feel very good about my finish and feel that I could have done better if I had seen the track prior to driving it " said an elated Jorge.
He qualified 12th and had to start the race at the tail end of the field after missing the driver's meeting.
He worked his way up to 6th during the race, and got much needed experience driving a super speedway.
"California Speedway is a great track and I look forward to racing here again" he added.
Performance Motorsports, based out of Glendora, Calif. now heads to
Roseburg, Oregon on September 17, to compete in the NAPA 200.![]()
