LAS VEGAS—Spencer Clark was untouchable in the 50-lap Super Late Model feature at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the running of the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Saturday night.
The 18-year-old qualified sixth and started on the outside pole after a seven-car invert. Clark jumped to a quick lead over pole setter Mike Cofer. In his third season in the division, Clark took the lead on the first lap and retained command of the 24-car field to capture his seventh win.
“I was in bed sick all week; I’d like to thank all the guys who helped this week. Without their help, I wouldn’t have been able to compete this week,” said Clark. “I’m not really focused on the championship this year because we missed a race this season when I was competing in the West Series at Pikes Peak. I’m just out here to win races and put on a great show.”
Clark is third in the Super Late Model track point standings, 38 points behind leader Cofer and a mere nine points behind second-place driver Thane Alderman.
The 2003 Super Late Model Rookie-of-the-Year has seven wins, seven top-five finishes and was the fastest qualifier 11 times in 17 starts this season.![]()
