MONROE, Wasington -- John Zaretzke made a statement on Saturday night September 17, that he still owns the 5/8-mile with two wins in one night in two separate divisions. The night was also a success for three newly crowned champions. Shane Harding by virtue of 9-wins this season cruised to his first Speedway Chevrolet NASCAR Super Stock Championship, Mike Zamora won his first Late Model Challenge Series Championship and Jason Majors won the Northwest Pro 4 Truck Series crown.

All Shane Harding needed for that first Super Stock Championship was a twenty-first or better finish. Harding used a lot of patience all season and again on championship night to finish third and captured the title. Second in points Jason Fraser took the lead early and looked like he would get his first win on the big track but John Zaretzke caught him and took the lead and the win. The 75-lap championship main had a season high 25-cars and winner John Zaretzke was his usual master of the big track. Taking the lead in the second half of the race and relinquished it. Although it was not an easy day for Zaretzke after blowing a motor in the first practice session he and his team changed to the backup motor in 45-minutes.

The Late Model Challenge Series 75-lap main with 30-cars taking the green looked eerily similar to the Super Stock main. Fraser had the lead and Zaretzke made the pass in traffic. Zaretzke raced to a second win. LMCS 2005 Champion Mike Zamora’s weekend did not go as planned. Zamora had a motor let go at the Friday night practice. Not having a back-up he went looking for a motor. They were offered one from Loran Payne. The team finished installing the borrowed motor just prior to the 2nd practice session. By virtue of making the start Zamora captured his first Late Model Championship.

Jason Majors won the season championship in the Northwest Pro 4 Truck Series. Roger Pagel the race winner took the lead early after starting in eighth. Pete Brady finished second ahead of Bart Hector.

The Concept Racing Street Stock/Bomber Challenge was won by Darin Stordahl. Early race leader Jesse Jensen had the strongest car but a motor problem took him out. Steve McElroy finished second and Monty Boyd third.
