KYLE, Texas -- When Round 11 of the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series debuts at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle, Texas, October 1, former Grand National Champion Scott Lynch will be ready to thunder his way to victory.
"Truth be known, I am actually looking forward to this round," says Lynch. "The West Series has never competed on this track, so it is pretty much like sailing into uncharted waters. There is no open test so everyone will be on the same page when practice gets underway on Saturday morning. A lot will depend on the crew and that is one of the areas where we excel. Our Lynch Mob crew is very good at getting the job done in short order. Once we have run the track a few times, we should be able to get our Mr. Gas Dodge in race trim in with virtually no problem."
Sitting in the lead by just 33 points, Lynch knows exactly how important the next two rounds are. "The pressure is definitely on," says the Las Vegas resident. "Every single point is all important and we will going for every one we can get. We have finished in the top five in the past nine events and don't have any intention of giving a single inch."
If motivation and determination have anything to do with winning, then Lynch should take top honors hands down. One of the most dedicated young racers in the NASCAR arena today, Lynch has proven himself time and time again. He is well known for his ability to come from the back and has put himself and his team on the Podium eight times out of ten so far this year.
"A win this weekend would be awesome," says Lynch. "It would take a little of the pressure off the last round. From everything I have learned, Thunder Hill is a great facility, one that has good grip and allows for running both high and low. It is supposed to be somewhat similar to Douglas Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon and that is a track we have done well at in the past. Whatever, I know we will be up to challenge and come race time, we will be set to navigate this uncharted territory,"
Qualifying for the 200 Lap/75 Mile race will take place at 4:30 PM CT with race action getting underway at 8:00 PM.![]()
