KYLE, Texas -- Brett Thompson and Thompson Motorsports just can’t wait to get on the road again.
Thompson and team are on their way to Kyle Texas for Saturday’s Allstate Texas Thunder 200 presented by Main Street Homes & the Central Texas Chevy Dealers at Thunder Hill Raceway.
Last week the team made the long haul to Dover Delaware where Brett Thompson drove his Thompson Motorsports/Rich Thompson Trucking Chevy Monte Carlo to a 10th place finish in the NASCAR Grand National Division Busch North Series MBNA Race Points 150 Dover International Speedway.
Thompson started 15th and moved up as high as 4th place with good pit stop strategy and good driving by Brett Thompson. Contact with the “lucky dog” lapped car coming around under yellow forced an unscheduled pit stop that dropped Thompson to the rear of the field. However the hard charging Thompson was able to drive forward into the top 10.
Team owner Rich Thompson commented that they had a great car and Brett Thompson drove a great race and was overall pleased with a Top-10 finish for their first time on the Monster Mile.
Thompson is 6th in NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series Championship points with 2 Top-5’s and 7 Top-10’s in 10 races. Thompson is ready for a good run in the West Series first stop in the Lonestar state. The team has their short track car ready for the 3/8 mile D- shaped Thunder Hill Raceway south of Austin. That car most recently qualified 4th and finished eighth at Douglas County Speedway.
Thompson Motorsports is based in Jerome ID and prepares racecars out of a 12,000 sq. ft. state of the art facility completed in February 2004. Thompson Motorsports prepares Rich Thompson Trucking/Windmill Inns Chevy Monte Carlos for Brett Thompson for the NASCAR Grand National Division West Series, in addition to preparing cars for customers for regional and local racing series.![]()
