KANSAS CITY, Kan.-- Kansas Speedway® and Sprint Nextel officials are proud to announce a multiyear agreement for the naming rights to Sprint FanWalk, the industry prototype for fan access in motorsports.

Sprint FanWalk at Kansas Speedway was the first of its kind and set the standard for unprecedented access to the behind-the-scenes world of motorsports when Kansas Speedway opened in 2001. Located just inside Kansas Speedway's infield between the working NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and NASCAR Busch Series garages, Sprint FanWalk is an interactive area that provides race fans access to the world of NASCAR.

"Sprint Nextel is committed to bringing the NASCAR fan closer to the sport, whether it be through our technology or our fan access programs," said Michael Robichaud, vice president, sports marketing, Sprint Nextel. "We believe the Sprint FanWalk is the ideal way to give fans more access and a behind-the-scenes look at what happens in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup garage area."

Sprint FanWalk has been adorned with signage in that familiar yellow that NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race fans have come to know over the last two years. Guests of Sprint FanWalk will still be able to watch the intricacies of a working garage and NASCAR inspections, talk to race officials as cars are fueled and watch for their favorite drivers in Autograph Alley. Slots along the fence allow race fans to pass memorabilia to their favorite drivers to autograph. In Sprint FanWalk, fans can watch press conferences, Gatorade Victory Lane festivities and pole-award ceremonies.

"This new partnership between Kansas Speedway and Sprint Nextel will only make all the fun and interactive opportunities for race fans even better for years to come," speedway President Jeff Boerger said. "I can think of no better partner for Fan Walk than Sprint, a company that truly understands the importance of fans to our sport."

Tickets to Sprint FanWalk are sold out for Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the 2005 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series weekend.

Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., is a wholly owned subsidiary of International Speedway Corporation of Daytona Beach. Fla., a leading promoter of motorsports nationwide.
