LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Fifteen-year-old Alex Haase, of Las Vegas, continues to set the racing world on fire – figuratively and literally. Haase smoked the competition in his Star Nursery No. 66 INEX Legends car October 15, 2005 at Orange Show Speedway, in San Bernardino, CA, setting fast time, winning the trophy dash and then winning the 35-lap INEX Legend Car Master/Pro Main event. However, a transmission line malfunction on the Star Nursery No. 66 ASA Speed Truck resulted in a fiery end to his quest for the checkered in the ASA Speed Truck Challenge presented by CMKXtreme.com. Haase finished the 100-lap main event on the quarter-mile track in nineteenth place.
"We qualified 10th and this track is really hard to pass on," said driver Alex Haase. "Under a yellow we ran over some debris and cut a tire down and came in and got that fixed only to have the tranny line break and catch on fire."
