Yakima, Wash>/B>-- Yakima Speedway will honor its 2005 Champions on Saturday evening November 19 at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center in Yakima. The top 10 Point Leaders will be presented their individual awards at this prominent event that concludes this 2005 race season. This will be the 40th awards banquet, as the speedway will also finish celebrating its existence with Ted Pollock as the owner for the same amount of years.

The Champions to be crowned are Kelly Mann (Super Late Models), Jack Mondor (Limited Late Models), Second Generation Champion John Rose (Street Stocks), Buck Noel Jr. (Hobby Stocks), Third Generation Champion AJ Rose (Hornets), and Scott Belcher (Bump To Pass) along with 60 other drivers that fought hard to get into the top ten. The coveted Rookie of the Year and Sportsman of the Year will be awarded in the Hobby Stocks, Street Stocks, Limited Late Models, and Super Late Models.

This semi-formal event will begin with a no host social hour at 6:00pm with dinner at 7:00pm with awards and dancing following dinner. Reservations for dinner are needed to assure your attendance and preferred dinner choice availability. Please make your dinner reservations before November 12th. The entrée choice will be Chicken Marsala, Roasted Pork, and Sliced Roast of Round of Beef

The Clarion Hotel and Conference Center is located on 1507 N. 1st Street, Yakima, Washington. To make hotel room reservations call (509) 248-7850. This event was a huge success last year as old programs, pictures, and the years highlights were shown on DVD for everyone to enjoy during the dance.

Next year some small rule changes are happening in the different divisions of Yakima Speedway. Rules for the Hobby Stock will remain the same except they will get to run electric fans. Streets Stocks will be allowed to run Aluminum intakes and headers, but a decision on tires hasn’t been made yet. Late models will run on 10" slicks with a restrictor plate, which this last year proved to make the racing exciting and close. Keep an eye on the Yakima website for more updates.
