PERRIS, CA-- Just before Christmas, Perris Auto Speedway and the Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series received an extra present when the United States Auto Club announced that the March 4th race at The PAS would be part of new USAC Thunder television series that will be shown on the Outdoor Channel.
USAC Thunder will be a package of 20 races shown between February 8th and October 14th and will include 14 straight Saturday afternoons of open wheel action between July and September. The series will feature 12 Silver Crown events, five Midget races and three Sprint Car shows. The March 4th race at The PAS will be the first Sprint Car show on the television schedule.
The Outdoor Channel, which airs approximately 100 programs each week, is available to 24.6 million subscriber homes around the USA via satellite dish and cable.
“This was like an early Christmas present,” stated Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian upon returning to his office from the holiday break. “This is a tremendous opportunity not only for Perris Auto Speedway, but for the CRA Series and all of its teams. All of the team & track sponsors and the series have the potential to be exposed to millions of viewers nationwide. We are very happy about this.”
All twenty of the shows will be telecast on a delayed basis. The USAC/CRA Series event from The PAS, which is presented by Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply, will be shown on Saturday, April 1st. The series will debut with the Silver Crown portion of the Copper World Classic on Wednesday February 8th at 8 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. The entire schedule is listed below.
