ANTELOPE, California -- The heat is on as the #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS/NAPA Belts & Hose team takes the green for Bill McAnally Racing at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) which is the start of the 2006 NASCAR Grand National Division, AutoZone West Series season. Piloting the #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet Monte Carlo and making his NASCAR Grand National Division, Autozone West Series debut is the 2005 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series National Champion, Peyton Sellers. The green flag will fall for the first time in 2006 on January 22nd at PIR.
“This is a fun track,” said Sellers. “Both corners are completely different from each other which makes for some great racing. We recently tested at PIR which gave me an opportunity to get a feel for the track. We are planning on running a conservative race. That’s not to say that I don’t plan on winning. This is the first event of a twelve race season and we are running for a championship. I’m looking to gain some valuable seat time, get comfortable with the #16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet and learn about our competition in the series.”
The United Rentals 125 NASCAR Grand National Division, AutoZone West Series race will run Sunday January 22 at Phoenix International Raceway as part of the Annual Copper World Classic Weekend.
