BMR AND BRIAN ICKLER PREPARE FOR PIR AND THE 2006 NASCAR AUTOZONE WEST SERIES SEASON

ANTELOPE, California -- Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) has signed the 2003 SCORE Lite Champion and Rookie of the Year to drive the #20 Consolidated Electrical Distributors/NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet in the NASCAR Grand National Division, AutoZone West Series. The #20 team has a unique mix of electrical equipment manufacturers as sponsors.

Ickler, a 20-year-old college student from Poway, California began racing at the age of 14 in a local off-road series near his home. At the age of 16, he competed in the SCORE Baja 1000 and after a grueling 22 hours, Ickler finished fourth in his class. He moved up to the SCORE Lite Class and recorded five wins in a six-race season. Ickler next challenged Irwindale, a half mile super speedway, competing in the NASCAR Weekly Series Super Late Model division. Ickler recorded six top-five finishes in eleven starts and won the season ending feature, the NASCAR Hot Wheels 200.

“This is a great opportunity for me,” said Ickler. “I am looking forward to a lot of synergy with my teammate, Peyton Sellers, and the #16 team.”

“We are really excited that Bill was able to enlist Craig Raudman for the #20 Consolidated Electrical Distributors team Crew Chief. Craig and I have worked briefly together before, and his mechanical skills as well as driver input will be a big part of a successful 2006 season,” continued Ickler. “There are a lot of tracks that we’ll be going to this season that I have never seen. BMR’s experience and great equipment puts us further ahead on the learning curve.”

Ickler joins an impressive list of previous drivers of the #20 BMR entry. Past alumni include three-time NASCAR Northwest Series champion Jeff Jefferson, NASCAR Nextel Cup / Busch Series drivers Clint Bowyer and Kerry Earnhardt, and the 2005 Most Popular Driver recipient Sarah Fisher.

Ickler and the team recently tested at Phoenix International Raceway and will make their NASCAR AutoZone West Series debut at the Copper World Classic on January 22, 2006.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at PIR,” said Ickler. “It’s a lot different from racing at Irwindale Speedway. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

The United Rentals 125 NASCAR Grand National Division, AutoZone West Series race will run Sunday January 22 at Phoenix International Raceway Logon to www.phoenixinternationalraceway.com for more information on the race event.
