
Racing for the Missing (RFTM) a division of the Nations Missing Children’s Organization (NMCO) and National Center for Missing Adults (NCMA) enters its seventh and final season in the NASCAR Elite division Southwest series. “ We have promoted Personal Safety and Awareness in the popular Elite division for a long time now, we now must look out side the box realigning our program in other motorsports venues continuing to support the families we assist” Said Darrell LaMoure RFTM Co-Founder and veteran driver in the Southwest series
Jim Pettit II won his second consecutive series championship in 2005 and has no plans for change in the series final season. “Our team is solid the car and engines are good if its not broke don’t fix it as they say. What’s more important to us is we will continue to support Racing for the Missing and do everything we can to help the families RFTM assists” Said Pettit
Pettit racing will place a larger then life image and contact information of RANDY ROBERT ROGERS on the hood of his Top of the Hill Ford Sunday January 22nd in the Copper World Classic at Phoenix International Raceway. Randy Robert Rogers a endangered missing adult was last seen at Mather campground in the Grand Canyon National park on 09/09/05 He planned to continue to Telluride, CO after camping but never arrived. His vehicle and camping gear were found abandoned at the campsite.

Veteran Elite driver and Co-Founder of RFTM Darrell LaMoure will provide awareness of another Arizona missing hiker on his NAPA Auto Parts Chevy. DAVID BARCLAY MILLER an employee of the Sedona Forrest service was on a two and half day hike and never returned. David is an experienced hiker and his whereabouts are unknown. David is thirty years of age today he was last seen wearing shorts t-shirt and a forest green “Gregory” back pack. David was last seen on 05/19/1998

Racing for the Missing utilizes motorsports as its platform to reach the public in hopes of generating that one-lead law enforcement can use resulting in a safe return. In addition the program provides an educational value a safety element; each race fan, track promoter and racing team having contact with the program becomes more cognizant of the circumstances surrounding these cases and reduces the potential for occurrence in their lives.
The 2006 Copper World Classic marks a historical timeline for race fans, racers and NASCAR as this will be the final season for the Elite Divisions “the decision was tough race fans, competitors, track operators, sponsors and NASCAR employees were all considered” commented an unnamed source. Eight to Ten final events will etch there way into the record books this season and when its all over only memories live like the photographs taken Susan and David Stone of MotorShooters racing photography and those snap shots of the past twenty something years in each of our memories.
