ISC’S “BACK THE TRACK NIGHT” SUCCESSFUL EVENT AT TACOMA DOME

TACOMA, Washington -- International Speedway Corporation’s “Back the Track Night” event held in hopes to show Washington State Legislators that fans will support a NASCAR racetrack in Kitsap County was a roaring success. Crowd count well exceeded 5500 and many fans lined up to get in as early as an hour and a half before the start of the event in hopes of getting a ticket to attend an autograph session once inside.

Fans weren’t disappointed as Washington’s own, Greg Biffle and Kasey Kahne were in attendance along with Michael Waltrip, IRL’s Sam Hornish, Jr., racing legends, Al Unser Sr. and Johnny Rutherford. Darrell Waltrip, Allen Bestwick and

Curt Cavin were also on hand to share their support and recount stories of racing with fans.

Clubs and tracks such as the Western Washington Racing Association, Evergreen Speedway, and LeMay’s Automotive Museum lent their support by being in attendance and available to the public. Also appearing was 9 yr old Garret Archer, PSGKA Track Champion, (4) IKF Championships, and Oakwood's Dirt Championship - all in 2005, and 16 yr old WMRA 2005 Rookie of the Year, Brea Lopez handed out souvenir cards and greeted fans with a smile. Loran Payne and Rick Haggar brought their Late Models out for people at the Dome to have a closer look at as well.

ISC currently owns and/or operates eleven of the nation’s major Motorsports facilities, and hopes to get backing at the State level to build a track here. If approved, the track is estimated to be operational in 2010.####
