Snohomish, WA--NASCAR West Grand National driver/owner Travis Powell has signed on to race the IRDC Endurance race this weekend at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA.
Powell Motorsports USA has announced Jack Eby will team up with Travis Powell and will be behind the wheel to complete the team format for this race.
When asked about road course racing vs. his usual circle track Powell said, “ the IRDC along with the SCCA are working hard to promote their endurance racing format and we had some fun here last year. I won the Local Class here at Pacific Raceways and Jack had some wins in his class as well. I’m looking at this as a warm-up race, tuning up for the NASCAR season.”
While looking ahead to the 2006 racing season, Powell said he’s slated for the April 1st start of the NW Elite Tour at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA then the April 20th race in Phoenix. “Phoenix was hard for us in January, so I’m looking forward to go back and do it right this time. We’ve made some changes…in racing you’re always making changes and now I think we’re set.”
As owner and operator of the racing garage located in Snohomish, Washington Travis has a stable of six cars and multiple engine and set up options.
