ERIE,Colorado --This Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway will be the :Saturday Night Showdown” with racing in 5 divisions. On the schedule are The Wright Group Events and Services Late Models, Snap-On Tools Pro Trucks, RMMRA Midgets, RMLRA Legends and the CARC Modified Coupes. Also fans will be able to experience two NASCAR simulators, and have their picture taken with one of Mark Martin’s AAA Nextel Cup Cars. The Modified Coupes will be the trophy dash for the evening.

Jumping out to the early season points lead in The Wright Group Events and Services Late Models is Scotty Backman out of Parker. Scotty has opened up a lead of 14 points over Roger Avants of Littleton. Another three points behind Avants sits a tie with Joe James Jr and last weeks winner Rick Smith. Dan Savage’s Ford sits fifth in the standings. Currently, Chris Eggleston is in charge of the rookie standings with Chris DeShon, Chris Atkinson, and Chad Cowan all not far behind.

With the help of a win two weeks ago in the Snap-On Tools Pro Truck main event, Rick Runkle of Lakewood leads the point standings by 6 over Chris Leaf of Kersey. Beau Kellogg sits third in the standings while Richard Burton and Adam Deines round out the top 5. In the chase for Rookie of the Year, Adam Deines leads Mark Bybee and Jake Snider.

In the track points for the RMMRA Midgets, currently it’s Gary Taylor of Wheat Ridge on top. Taylor impressed the fans last time out, as he went to the front using the upper groove in his first CNS appearance. Taylor has lead of 8 points over Russ Harper of Watkins. Robert Hanley, Bobby Harr, and Kyle Rayburn round out the top five in the standings.

The RMLRA Legend Cars always provide great racing and great car counts. Last time out was nothing different, and one of the “Young Guns” Chris Eggleston of Erie showed everyone the way to the front. Chris now has a single point lead over Terry Plummer of Loveland in the CNS Standings. Sandy, UT competitor Ray Bird sits third in the standings ahead of Greg Yongue and Jon Krizman. In the Rookie Chase, currently Jace Hansen is atop the leader board with Dee Duncan and Brittney Johnson trying to reel in Jace.

In the CNS Standings for the CARC Modified Coupes out front is Golden’s Wayne Swanson. Swanson holds a lead of 2 points over another Golden racer, Rich Bubak. Bruce Rhoades, Gary Land, and Carl Vair round out the top 5 in the standings.

Admission for this weeks events is still only $10 for adults, and $5 for youth (ages 10-14). Kids under 10 are free (limit 2 per paying adult). For more information on starting times, ticket prices, upcoming events, or to buy your tickets online, visit www.coloradospeedway.com .
