ERIE, Colorado -- This Saturday night, May 13, the Land Title Mothers Day Classic will run at Colorado National Speedway. The Wright Group Events and Services Late Models headline the action, and also running will be the Snap-On Tools Pro Trucks, Dunlap’s Trailers Sportsmans, RMLRA Legends, and the Figure 8’s.

The Late Model field in 2006 has been awesome, last time the division ran, 31 cars filled the pits. Scotty Backman and Rick Smith both have won a main event, while Roger Avants has picked up two wins. Backman’s Xtreme Signs and Graphics Pontiac leads the way in the points standings with a 6-point lead over Avants. Smith, Joe James Jr, and Chris Archer round out the top 5 in the season standings.

The Snap-On Tools Pro Trucks have had two different winners in there three races so far this season. Rick Runkle had won two races while Mike Bowen picked up the other win. Runkle in the Johnson Jr Racing Engines Dodge holds a slim 1-point lead over Chris Leaf. Paul Deines sits right behind the two in third place while Richard Burton and Beau Kellogg round out the top 5 in the standings.

In the Sportsman division, Davin Fisbeck has proved to be a threat to win another championship. Fisbeck in the Prime Landscaping Material Pontiac currently has two wins on the young season, while JimBob Rogers and Craig Holmes have each picked up one. Fisbeck has jumped out to a commanding 41-point lead over Rick Hunt. Rogers, Holmes and Eric Blackard round out the top 5 in the season standings.

After three races for the RMLRA Legend Cars, Chris Eggleston and Terry Plummer are tied at the top of the standings. Eggleston has pushed his H2O Fire Protection Ford to two wins in the season, with Plummer’s Hobbytown USA Ford taking the other win. Greg Yongue has been consistent all season and sits third in the standings over Scott Milan and Scott Miller.

The Figure 8 races this season have been phenomenal, with plenty of action! There have been several close hits in the X, and several drivers showing “No Fear.” Al Duran has won two of the main events in his Torres Mexican Food Nova, while Joe Matlock has won the other main event. Duran holds a 13-point lead over Dennis Stepanich while Harry Bragg, Matlock, and John Johnson round out the top 5. Johnson got a little track time on the Figure 8 track last weekend, in a different type of vehicle. Johnson drove one of Don Callender’s School Busses to a win on the Figure 8 track, so that may give him a little advantage on the rest of the field.
