ANDERSON, California -- This Saturday night, Shasta Raceway park is proud to present, for the first time ever, the Prime Financial 100 for the Westcar Late Model Series. Also on tap for an exciting night of racing are the NASCAR Coors Light Late Models, the NASCAR Auto City Modifieds, the Schmitt Equipment Sales Bombers, and the Legends.

After three races so far this year, things are tight on top of the Westcar standings. Currently, Oakley’s Troy Shirk has a slim four point lead over Carmichael’s Byron Gonzales. Shannon Mansch of Roseville is third in the rundown, followed by Stockton’s Chris Monez and Orangevale’s Gary Glenn. Over 25 cars are entered for the inaugural Prime Financial 100 at Shasta Raceway Park, hailing from California, Arizona, and Nevada, including those of Redding driver Kyle Cattanach and Cottonwood’s Richie Crowell. Inaugural races are often some of the most memorable one can ever see. This Saturday night should be no different, as the Westcar Late Model Series comes to town for the first time ever.

After a slam-bang event last weekend in the NASCAR Coors Light Late Models, Jason Browne remains atop the standings. Steven Gannon is second, only two points behind. It’s another two points down to Alan Pyszora in third, and two more to Jerry Nichols in fourth. Rich Oller and Eric Gannon are currently tied ten points back in the fifth and sixth positions. The parity in this class is very impressive this year, and the racing is sure to please.

Defending Auto City Modified champion Guy Young sits atop the standings in that division, which had its own fair share of incidents last week. He has a 20 point lead over Kelly Peacock, who is followed by Kevin Brink and Jeremy Ammon. Jack Epperson and Stan Gunderson are tied 34 points back in the fifth and sixth positions. All of these drivers have been impressive and competitive this year, and should be fun to watch this Saturday night.

The Schmitt Equipment Sales Bombers were perhaps the only division not to turn into a destruction derby last week. Cody Braund currently holds a smug 35 point in the standings, followed by Kyle Borden. David Braund is third, followed by Dave Lewallen and Randy File. Brian King is in sixth, only one point out of the top five. The Bombers have put on some of the best racing this year, and will be exciting to watch come Saturday.

The Legends make their return this Saturday as well after a few weeks off. Defending champion Micah Parmer holds down a slim two point lead in this division over Derek Copeland. Howard Hammers is third, followed by Zachery Kavert and Jason Schuppert. All of these drivers are in a heated rivalry, making the Legend class breathtaking at every turn. Don’t miss their return to action!

And, as an added bonus, one lucky fan will have the chance to win a CSP Custom 110 Dirt Bike before the start of the Prime Financial 100 feature. The Westcar drivers will each throw a frisbee into the grandstands prior to the event. The frisbee that has the word "Winner" on it will be the winner of the dirt bike, compliments of Jeff Macey and Phil Perry of Westcar!

This Saturday night, gates open at 4:30 P.M., with qualifying at 5:30 P.M., and racing to begin at 6:30 P.M.
