MADERA, California -- Last week the USAC/CASA sprint cars and the USAC Ford Focus midgets invaded Madera Speedway. This Saturday, June 10, the Madera Speedway Late Models, Selsor Street Stocks, Toyota Sedans, Hornets and MST’s return for another exciting night of racing.
The Modified Super Toyotas will be featured with Twin 25 lap main events. Doug Bridger and Tanner Swanson are having a torrid battle for points lead with Doug Bridger leading by a handful of points. Can Tanner Swanson close the gap? Can Tanner emulate his older brother Kody, who has won the last two sprint car races at Madera. With two main events double points will be available and maybe another driver can make a run at the championship.
In the Late Models Howard Holden, Ernie Coppo and Richard Herzog are separated by only ten points and a win for either would certainly help. Waiting in the wings though is Bryan Herzog who has suffered with various problems but is now confident with his win last Saturday in the Modified race.
In the Selsor Street Stocks Tony Schmitz is leading but is being pursued by Chuck Aguirre, Jerry Selsor and Jillaun Holden. In the Toyota Sedans Randy Fleming is leading in points and a win would be a boost for him.In the Hornet division Rick Minor is leading but is being pursued by the always exciting Sue Hannah.
