MIRA LOMA, California -- Scott Dodd charged through the 26 six truck field to a third place finish Saturday at the Las Vegas Bullring. Dodd in his #9 ASA Go Fast Chevy Speed Truck started the race in the 15th position and was able to maneuver his way to another top five finish. This finish kept Dodd in the lead for the points series, tied with 9 year Speed Truck veteran and previous champion Darren Young. The third place finish also makes Dodd the only driver in the series to finish in the top five at all races this year.
The Van Gordon powered truck was running in the top five during practices on Friday and Saturday. During qualifying the truck was loose and Dodd qualified 15th. During the race Dodd was quick to move into the top ten and then he took the advantage when a couple of trucks in front of him had an incident and then passing a few more moving him into the top five. By lap 60 Dodd was up to third and challenging the top two that were battling for the lead. With several yellows in the last few laps Dodd was able to hold on to his position and finish behind winner Darren Young and second place finisher and two time champion Lee Hatch.
The next race will be at Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, CA on July 1st. Racing will begin at 6:30PM and the annual Fireworks Show will follow the races.
