JOEY KRAMER JAMS TO JUNCTION 30 WIN AT PONDEROSA SPEEDWAY

JUNCTION CITY, Kentucky --The NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series paid a visit to the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday night and Joey Kramer would defend his race win and score the 2nd Annual Junction 30 on Friday evening after also winning the event in 2005.

The start of the 30 lap, $1,500 to win 2nd Annual Junction 30 would see the trio of Joey Kramer, Leonard Pierce, and Adam Gootee go three-wide for the lead, with Kramer coming out on top, followed by Pierce and Gootee, with Gootee losing two spots back to fifth after getting crossed up off of turn four. The caution would wave in turn two on lap 2 for a spin by Dennis Barton. On the Delaware double-file restart, Kramer would continue to hold the lead, followed by Pierce, Victor Lee, Adam Gootee, and Kelly Warren. Warren would take fourth one lap later, as Pierce raced side by side with Kramer for the lead, before Kramer would secure the spot on lap 5. Kramer would start to stretch his lead as he began lapping slower traffic on lap 9. Caution would fly again on lap 11 when fifth place Gootee got into the wall in turn three, with Cale Coffey and Skylar Marlar also involved, with Marlar being done for the night. Back under green, Jimmy Payne would go to fifth and battle with Clint Shutts for that spot. The caution waved again on lap 12 for a multi-car pile-up in turn four involving Jeff Johnson, Gootee, and Clarence Belcher, with Gootee and Johnson pulling pit side. With the green flag back out, Payne would pass Warren for fourth on lap 12, but the caution would wave one circuit later when Russ Gabbert slowed in turn one and went pit side. On the restart, Don Adams, who went to the rear after having a flat tire on lap 2, had worked his way back to sixth and would pressure Warren for fifth and would take fifth on lap 15. Lee would go to second on lap 15 past Pierce, while Payne would go to third on lap 19 when Pierce bobbled in turn four. Caution would wave again on lap 22 when Arnold Adams looped his mount exiting turn two. With this restart, Kramer would hold a one car length lead on Jimmy Payne, who went to second on the restart. As the race wound down, Kramer would work lapped traffic to perfection and take his first "BoB Mod Squad" series win of the 2006 season in his Wild's Restoration Service/Hill's Historic Painting/Super Shine Auto Detail and Window Tint/PBM Performance Parts/Bilstein Shocks #77 Lightning Chassis, Kramer Race Engines powered mount. Payne would take second, followed by Lee, Don Adams, and Pierce. Completing the top ten were Warren, Dustin Linville, Cale Coffey, Shon Flanery, and Clarence Belcher. Twenty-five NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series entries would see Joey Kramer the Racing Optics fast qualifier at 14.635 seconds. Qualifying heat race wins would go to Joey Kramer, Adam Gootee, and Leonard Pierce. The B-Main would see Dustin Linville get the checkered flag, while series provisional starting points would go to Russ Gabbert and Troy Teegarden, with track provisionals going to Jeff Johnson and Ricky Lane.
