MOORPARK, CaliforniaFireworks and racing, nothing better goes hand and hand on the Fourth of July weekend.

The NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup Series’ headed to Daytona Beach for their annual races.

The Busch Series took on the two and a half mile track on Friday night in the Winn-Dixie 250.

Jason Leffler was the highest finishing Ringers supporting racer in 18th. Todd Kluever’s DriverX racing gloves by Ringers led him across the line in 25th, while Tracy Hines followed not far behind in 29th. Paul Menard dropped out of the race early due to an accident and was scored 37th.

The Craftsman Truck Series raced at Kansas Speedway on Saturday afternoon for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250.

Brendan Gaughan battled the afternoon heat and took home the top honors of the highest finishing Ringers team in fourth place. Green Light Racing driver Chad McCumbee finished 13th, Billy Ballew Motorsports driver Kyle Krisiloff in 17th, while occasional Truck series driver and ARCA RE/MAX Series regular Justin Allgaier finishing 21st and second Green Light Racing driver Johnny Chapman finishing 33rd.

The Nextel Cup Series also took to the two and a half mile superspeedway of Daytona International, but on Saturday night.

The Ringers supporting team of Penske Racing South almost had both their drivers in the top 10.

Kurt Busch followed his brother Kyle to the line in his No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge in third place, while teammate Ryan Newman piloted his No. 12 Alltel Dodge home to 11th place, one spot shy of another top-10 finish.

In sprint car action, Tim Kaeding picked up his seventh National Sprint Tour (NST) win of the season at Winner Speedway in Winner, South Dakota on Saturday night.

Kaeding led early in the race, lost the lead to his boss Steve Kinser, and then regained it during the most crucial point, the last lap to cruise to victory lane.

Other Ringers notables in the field were Brian Paulus in eighth and quick time award winner Shane Stewart in 12th.
