SUPER LATE MODELS POINTS BATTLE HIGHLIGHTS ALLSTATE NIGHT AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAYIRWINDALE, California --Saturday, July 8 is Allstate Insurance Night at Irwindale Speedway and points battles in several racing divisions will be featured including an extremely tight one in Lucas Oil Super Late Models action. Five races are on tap including the Pick Your Part Figure 8’s competition featuring Jesse James, host of the Discovery Channel’s popular television series Monster Garage.

Lucas Oil Super Late Model series leader Van Knill hopes to improve upon his one point lead over second place Dan Moore. Both drivers have been consistent throughout the season. In eight races, Knill has two wins and three second place finishes while Moore has posted two second place finishes and three third place finishes. Austin Grabowski has been hot as of late in Legend Cars competition with two wins and two second place finishes in his last four races. His effort has reduced the gap to an 18 point difference between himself and Series leader Tom Landreth. Despite being victorious in six consecutive races, Tyler Rogers has only a 22 point cushion over second place Kevin Bernhardt in Snap-on Tools Mini Stocks competition. On the other hand, Ron Peterson has a commanding lead in the King Taco Super Truck series thanks to a track record ten consecutive victory string dating back to the 2005 season. Peterson established the record in his last race on June 24 and has seven wins this season along with an 88 point lead over Pat Minter, Jr. Jesse James will look to whittle away at the 30 point lead Tom Smith has established in Pick Your Part Figure 8’s action.
