PORTLAND, Oregon – Carl Skerlong, 2005 Formula TR 1600 Champion, completed a very success test July 12th at Portland International Raceway. With rain in the morning and very “green” track conditions in the afternoon, Skerlong consistently ran times competitive for the front of the pro series grid.
Skerlong, driving a Northwest Autosport prepared Pro Formula Mazda, tested with a Northwest Autosports satellite team in preparation for round 7 of the Star Mazda Championship next week in Portland Oregon. This will mark Skerlongs second start in the Star Mazda Championship series in 2006. Back in March he put together an impressive qualifying effort starting from the 3rd spot and finishing 11th of 38 drivers who took the green at Sebring.
Oregon based Northwest Autosport will campaign 4 cars at the upcoming event at P.I.R. with Ryan Justice driving the Northwest Autosport entry, Phil Fogg Jr. driving the Consonus Health Services Pro Formula Mazda, Tom Sutherland of California driving the ClickAway Computers and Networking Pro Formula Mazda and Carl Skerlong of Washington driving the Odyssey Motorsports sponsored Pro Formula Mazda.
