Mike David of Modesto, CA looks to regain the points lead, Saturday, as the NASCAR Grand National West Series heads into Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, CA.
David had a strong runner-up finish in his Bennett Lane Winery Ford Fusion in Roseberg Oregon three weeks ago.
David had a top finish at Irwindale in May thwarted by a faulty air-gun during his pit stop. David recovered to finish in sixth place.
We normally have good cars at Irwindale Speedway, David said.
David emphasizes a strong run needed at Irwindale to remain in the championship hunt.
We have to stay consistent and have top-fives, David said. Theres not enough races to have another problem.
The Lynch Racing Team has done a solid job preparing the cars, according to David, and thats allowed him to be in the championship position for the first time since he joined the series.
We prep the cars well and the guys are doing a great job, David said. Everythings falling in the right direction. Im really happy where we are and were doing well.
