YAKIMA, Washington --Gary Lewis won the Bud Clary Toyota 125 at Yakima (Wash.) Speedway in the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series. It was his third win of the season and the 31st of his Northwest Series career.
Lewis, out of Bothell, Wash., dominated the race at times, but came back to the field while navigating lapped traffic. He took the lead from pole sitter Jeff Barkshire heading into lap four and led the final 121 laps of the race. Travis Bennett spent most of the night looking at the back of Lewis’ car finished second by .462 seconds.
Brandon Riehl finished in third followed by Jeff Barkshire and Garrett Evans in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Pete Harding, Shane Mitchell, Brent Harris, Wilbur Bruce and B.J. Tidrick rounded out the top 10.
Unofficially, Lewis expanded his lead over Bennett in the championship point standings by 10 to 47. Riehl kept pace and remained in third place.
The Northwest Series is back on the track next Saturday at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash. for the Washington National Guard 150 presented by Creekside Retirement Community.
