ANTELOPE, California -- Evergreen Speedway has seen a lot of racing over the years beginning in the mid 1950’s when the track was dirt and the cars were Model T roadsters. A lot of great driver’s have recorded win at the 5/8 mile track and 20-year old rookie driver, Brian Ickler hopes to add his name to the list which includes Ray Elder, Derek Cope, Bill Elliot and Brendan Gaughan.
Ickler, who pilots the #20 NAPA Filter.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS for Bill McAnally Racing is tenth in points in the chase for the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series and less than 75 points out of the top-five.
“I really don't know what to expect at the NAPA 250” said Ickler. “I've never seen the track, and actually, I've never been in the state of Washington.”
“We’ve worked on being more prepared when we get to the track and make the most of the two practice sessions we have. I have learned to adapt to new tracks quickly, and expect a strong finish from our #20 NAPA Filters.com team.”
The NAPA “250” presented by AAA will be on July 29, 2006 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe Washington. The track will also be hosting the NASCAR Elite Division, Northwest Tour that evening. The West Series race is scheduled to begin at 8:15 pm PT.
