
IRWINDALE, Calif.ornia -- DODGE Night at Irwindale Speedway this Saturday July 29 includes five races featuring hotly contested points battles.
Lucas Oil Super Late Model series leader Van Knill of Tucson, Ariz. holds a slim three-point lead over Dan Moore of Burbank, Calif. Both drivers have been consistent throughout the season. In nine races, Knill has three wins and three second place finishes while Moore has posted six top-three finishes including runner-ups in his last two races.
By winning the last two Vista Paint Super Stocks races, Greg Crutcher of Covina, Calif. has narrowed the points gap to 49 between him and series leader Bryan Harrell of Riverside, Calif. Prior to Crutcher’s consecutive win streak, Harrell amassed six wins in seven races.
Lindsey King of Cherry Valley, CA, is among a handful of females competing in the popular Legend Cars series which competes on the 1 / 3-mile oval. King’s string of five top-three finishes in the last seven starts has vaulted her into second place, 34 points behind leader Tom Landreth of Alta Loma, Calif.
The Bandoleros and the ASA Speed Trucks round out Saturday’s race schedule. The Speed Trucks are making their second and final appearance of the season at Irwindale Speedway. Andrew Allen won the last race on May 13.
Gates open at 4 p.m. for qualifying / heat sessions. The King Taco fan appreciation autograph session will take place on the track at 5:45 p.m. with the first green flag waved at 7 p.m.
