MONTANA’S MORTON WINS OPENING DUEL AT IDAHO 200

POST FALLS, Idaho Kalispell, Montana’s Bodie Morton picked up his first late model win at Stateline Speedway Friday night winning the INSSA Duel for the 200. Morton held off Mike Behar and Dan Garber to claim the trophy and a spot in Sunday’s Idaho 200.

Morton passed Sandpoint, Idaho’s Corey Allard on lap 15 and dodged lap traffic holding off Mike Behar through the second half of the event to claim his first big event in a late model. Behar finished second Dan Garber third. Andy Brown claimed the forth spot followed by Christian Roeder and Jack Morse rounding out the top six.

The top six drivers are automatically locked into Sunday’s Idaho 200. Jack Morse was the only driver not sure if he was going to run. The spot would then go to Darrell Midgley if Morse declines.

On Saturday night, the Late Model Challenge Series rolls into town with point’s leader Troy Conrad and Spokane’s Shelby Thompson competing in the 100-lap Duel for the 200 qualifier and series point’s race for the tour. Qualifying starts at 6pm., Northwest Pro 4 Trucks and Outlaw Compacts will also be in action.

Fireworks following Saturday events are also scheduled. Adult adult admission is $15.

Events for the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 start on Sunday at 1pm with qualifying and followed by drivers from both series combined with top Late Model and Super Stock drivers from the Northwest competing for the 2006 NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 title.
