GROSVENOR BATTLES TO BIRTHDAY WIN

POST FALLS, IDAHO – August 20, 2006 – John Grosvenor took advantage of late race cautions to regain the lead and take the win for the Foreign Stock Cars main event this weekend at Stateline Speedway. Grosvenor out dueled fellow FSCRA and South Sound Speedway regulars for the win, the same weekend celebrating his birthday.

Grosvenor of Puyallup, WA led early in the 40-lap event holding of fast time setter Wayne Dillon. Dillon made several attempts at the lead in the first 15 laps with Grosvenor holding the bottom groove.

Paul McCarthy, the B Heat winner, spun exiting turn two with a rear wheel loose.

The caution allowed Dillon to take advantage of a slow restart, zipping past Grosvenor before the line. Other drivers took advantage of the start only to be slowed by another caution for a multi-car incident in turn three involving local driver Dan Bedwell of Rathdrum.

On the restart, Grosvenor setup an inside pass on Dillon who was falling back with mechanical problems. Grosvenor took the win, Dave Powell second and Kevin Koedke finished third. Dillon dropped to eighth.

Rob Ballard powered to the Hobby car 25-lap main event win over Gary Hommel and Dan Johnston. Ned Pennington won the dash. JC Ward and Monty Collison captured heats.

Brian Husk set fast time and sits third in points. Dan Johnston is second. Last year’s champion Rob Ballard leads the division.

Andy Allard survived a caution filled ICAR race to take his first win of the season. Corey Juhnke set fast time and finished second, Dan Bacon third. Spokane’s Kit Van Buskirk won the heat race.

On Wednesday, the wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever takes place at 6pm with Fever 4’s, Road Runners, plus the cars and superstars of the Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.
