QUOTES:
You will have the opportunity to travel home for a few days, what are your plans while in California?
“I am so excited to get home to California and visit with my family. I’m able to take a few days from the shop and travel home early to spend some time with my mom, dad and sister. I honestly haven’t seen my sister, Bobbi Jo, since December. No big plans made, just hang out with everyone and enjoy a few days off.”
Back to business…What are your predictions for California Speedway now that you’ve raced there already once this season?
“I feel way more comfortable going to a track that I’ve already made laps around. Earlier this season when we visited California Speedway, I started 39th but raced to a 21st-place finish. It truly helps to have past experience at a track, the Dollar General stores crew can utilize the practice to make the car faster instead of waiting on the driver to adapt to the track.”

The driver who earns the most points in the Late Model or Super Truck divisions at the fairgrounds’ Music City Motorplex during the 2006 race season will earn the opportunity to test, and upon NASCAR’s approval a chance to compete in a NASCAR Truck Series event for KHI at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in April 2007.
NASCAR GRAND NATIONAL DIVISION, WEST SERIES: The same car that Lamar raced at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway this past weekend was the same chassis that was in victory lane nearly one year ago at the California Speedway. Burney Lamar made four starts in 2005 in the NASCAR Grand National West Series, one of which was at the California Speedway exactly one year ago from the Busch Series race on September 2. On that very day, Lamar drove the No. 33 HPS/Groeniger Chevrolet to victory lane after starting seventh on the grid and dominating the majority of the race. Lamar competed against fellow Busch Series drivers, David Gilliland and Auggie Vidovich to win at California that night.
