POST FALLS, Idaho -- Andy Brown captured his third INSSA win of the season out dueling fellow top three championship drivers Mike Behar, tied for first and finished second, and Dan Garber, tied for first finishing third, for the win. With the finishes, Brown closes within striking distance of the championship in third with Behar slightly in the lead followed by Garber.
Brown pulled ahead of race leaders Jeff Little and pole sitter Jeff Fenton by lap 50 to take commend of the lead to the checkers. Brown held of an inside pass by Behar and an outside charge by Garber to take the win.
The race only had two cautions, one for the spun car of Ross Cooper. The second and final caution of the night was for a freak mid race citywide power surge that put the track in total darkness for tow seconds. Drivers managed to hold positions while spotters stopped near misses.
Jeff Fenton was fourth after leading the opening laps. Jack Morse rounded out the top five. Mid race, lap leader Jeff Little of Sandpoint, Idaho, sixth. The INSSA cars hold their season finale and championship showdown two week from now. The top three in points, Behar, Garber, and Brown all have a chance at winning the 2006 title with Behar and Garber nearly tied.
Rob Ballard set fast time and nearly secured the 2006 Hobby Stock Championship by winning the Hobby car 25-lap main event over former champion Brian Husk and multiple race winner Ned Pennington.
