LOVEROCK THANKS THOSE WHO HELPED

Altamont was suppose to be a welcomed visit for Loverock Motorsports. In the first trip the NASCAR Southwest Series made to the track, Brandon Loverock enjoyed a 3rd place qualifying effort and was running 3rd when he cut a tire and made contact with the turn 4 wall. The car handled so well, Loverock circled the next Altamont race on the calendar with much anticipation to return to the half mile.

Loverock and his crew headed out the door at 4AM Friday morning, headed for Altamont. About an hour south of the track Loverock’s truck broke down. This is where Showdown contender, Stephan Sadler, jumped in to help his friend. Sadler brought both of his Padco #04 Tour cars to Altamont to ensure he started the race as he had a good chance of leaping into the top 10 in points and making the Showdown held at Irwindale Speedway. Sadler un-hooked one truck and sent Loverock’s crew chief, Steve Teets, on his way to pick up the car and crew. Shortly after 6PM Loverock, his crew and car would arrive at the track.

Loverock didn’t realize practice was going until 8PM so he was pleasantly surprised when he got to the track and found out he could get some laps. He got about 5 laps total but was happy with the way the car was handling. Once practice was over, now enter eventual 2006 Southwest Series Champion Rip Michels. Rip didn’t hesitate in stating his ford truck would be at the track Saturday and he would be more than happy to tow Loverock’s trailer back home.

Its race day and and all three, Loverock, Michels and Sadler were looking good in practice and it was shaping up to be one exciting race. Unfortunately for Loverock, his race would end on lap 98 when something under the hood let go and ruined his bid for a top 10 finish. For Sadler, he ran a solid race doing what he needed to do to make up points and get into the showdown. Unfortunately his effort came up just a little bit short. He would finish a strong 9th coming up 2 points shy of making the big televised race. For Rip, all he did was run up front all night, finish 2nd behind race winner Eric Holmes, and win the 2006 Southwest Series Championship. Rip received his congratulations and went to tech, and made sure to tell his buddy “I got your back bro.” Meaning he hasn’t forgotten about Loverock needing a tow home. As the night wound down, Loverock’s dad is quoted as saying “Its pretty bad when you break your racecar and tow vehicle in the same weekend.” The last points race for the Southwest Series wrapped up a frustrating season for Loverock, who will now look forward to one last hurrah at a non-points event held in November at Phoenix International Raceway.

Loverock Motorsports wishes to thank Rip Michels and Stephan Sadler for their help and support all throughout the 2007 campaign and at Altamont and is very fortunate to have friends like them who come through in a time of need.

Thanks guys!####
