KING TACO FAMILY NIGHT FEATURES A TWO FOR ONE TICKET PROMOTION, TWIN SUPER LATE MODEL RACES, DEMOLITION DERBY AND MORE SATURDAY AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY

A bargin buster ticket promotion and a full schedule of motor racing action highlight King Taco Family Night at Irwindale Speedway this Saturday (September 30). Fans will be able to purchase two tickets for the price of one and youngsters 12 years of age and under will be admitted for free to see a demolition derby, Lucas Oil Super Late Model division twin races, King Taco Super Trucks and the Bandoleros.

Van Knill of Tucson, Ariz. will have the challenge of competing in twin races to maintain his lead over second place David Beat of Santee, Calif. and clinch the Lucas Oil Super Late Model division championship. While Knill has a 36-point lead, only 28 points separate Beat from third place Jim McGill of Temecula, Calif.

Tom Landreth of Alta Loma, Calif. has a 46-point lead over Lindsey King of Cherry Valley, Calif. and needs only a 23rd place finish to lock up the Legend Cars division title. Second place is up for grabs as only 16 points separate King from third place Austin Grabowski of Upland, Calif.

Ron Peterson of Riverside, Calif. clinched the King Taco Super Truck division title on September 16, but runner-up honors have yet to be determined with second place Pat Mintey Jr. of Quartz Hill, Calif. holding a slim 8 point lead over third place rookie Matt Hicks of Santee, Calif.

The Bandoleros which feature racing’s future stars and an entertainment guaranteed Demolition Derby complete the evening’s schedule.

Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with the King Taco fan appreciation autograph session taking place on the track at 5:45 p.m. The green flag waves for the first race at 7 p.m.

UPCOMING: Test and Tune, the popular activity held weekly takes place this Thursday (September 28) under the lights from 5-10p.m. The activity allows local drag racers the opportunity to race their street legal cars on Irwindale Speedway’s 1/8-mile drag strip. It costs only $20.00 to race, $10.00 to watch ($5.00 for kids 12-6 yrs. and 5 yrs. and under are admitted for free)….The USAC Sprint car race scheduled for October 7 has been cancelled. The cancellation was a result of teams who were not in compliance with local sound restrictions during the August 26 race requiring sufficient time and testing to make exhaust modifications to their cars.

Tickets for all Irwindale Speedway events including the October 7 Cisco Burger World Figure 8 Championships presented by West Coast Choppers, Pick Your Part and Oakley Sunglasses and the October 20-21 NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown are available for purchase at the Speedway ticket office, by calling (626) 358-1100 and online at www.irwindalespeedway.com.

Auto Club of Southern California members receive a 10% discount off of the purchase of up to four (4) adult general admission tickets for regular Saturday oval racing events when they show their AAA membership card. Auto Club members can also receive discounts on special offers at the concession and souvenir stands.

Irwindale Speedway is located on 500 Speedway Drive off of Live Oak Ave. and I-605, between the 10 and 210 freeways in Irwindale, Calif.####
