FOSTER BIG WINNER AT WIN RIVER 100Anderson's own Ryan Foster driving the Golden Gate Meat Company Monte Carlo won his second Win River 100 on Saturday Night in fine fashion, by leading all 100 laps in the event that paid Foster $4000. Livermore's Jay Linstroth won his the 60 lap Western Modified Nationals race for the second year in a row. Redding's Alan Pyszora won the 75 lap Late Model feature while Sacramento's Phil Perry was the big winner in the 100 lap JD Moore Memorial Westcar event.

Foster was on a roll all weekend long, after posted fast time on Friday Night with a 15.64, he finished third in his heat race. Heat winner on Friday Night Derek Thorn pulled a 6 invert for Saturday's Win River 100 putting the fast Foster on the pole. After a couple of restarts that left the cars of Aaron Byers, Sal Lopez, Brad Wasmund and Robert Sprague in the pits done for the night before one lap was completed, Foster jumped into the lead and held off all challenges to win the event. Foster's biggest threat was from Lakeport's Derek Thorn and Crescent City driver Howard Ford, they could get close to Foster's rear bumper, but that was all. Thorn ended up second after a terrific battle with Ford late in the race, last years Win River 100 winner Steven Gannon came home fourth followed by another local driver Kyle Cattanach in fifth. Cattanach passed more cars than anybody after starting in the back on two separate occasions after being involved in two separate incidents.

Linstroth who also grabbed fast time in the Modified portion of the program passed early leader and polesitter Tom Berry from Medford and held off the challenges of 2005 and 2006 SRP Champion Guy Young for the $2000 win. Berry hung on for third followed by another local driver Stan Gunderson and former Modified Nationals winner Scott Winters. Local Rookie Modified driver Kevin Brink finished a solid sixth after starting deep in the field.

Redding's Alan Pyszora the 2004 and 2005 SRP NASCAR Late Model Champion passed Stockton's Joe "Racer" Allen and then held off Allen's repeated challenges to win his first Open Win River 75, Pyszora collected $1500 for the win. Shasta Lake's Jerry Nichols held off Bill Lancaster for third, while Roseville competitor Mickey Owens finished fifth.

Phil Perry took home the checkered in the first annual running of the JD Moore 100 Wesrcar event after a spirited battle with 2006 Westcar Champion Shannon Mansch. Perry passed Mansch just after the halfway point of the race and went on to score the $2500 victory. Mansch finished a solid second followed by Nevada driver Bobby Hodges, Gary Glen and Byron Gonzales.
